Notes from Camp Cheapo – Day 7
I can’t be expected to remember everything.
Apparently I dropped the ball on class photos. I recall paying for pictures but I don’t remember Picture Day ever happening…then I was handed this. Clearly second grade will forever be remembered as the year he needed a haircut and loved Star Wars. I found myself searching his class group photo for another kid whose mother also forgot Picture Day. And there in row 2, second from the end, was “Phineas and Ferb” t-shirt boy. Oh thank you, I am not alone. I immediately felt a connection with this equally scattered mother. I sensed that she was somewhere in her cluttered kitchen, holding a glass of wine, also searching the photo. I hope that she sighed with relief at the sight of my son too.
Not our finest parenting moment.
Ana was so proud that she won this pink squirrel all by herself at Dutch Wonderland. Little did she know that later, on the ride home, it would be cruelly used as a behavior modification tool. In a moment of desperation squirrel was held out of the sunroof at 50 mph with us swearing she would never see him again if she didn’t stop screaming. It was a Dutch Wonderful Day and Dutch Crappy ride home.
Sicko!
Really? You clicked the link? How embarrassing. I haven’t been naked in public since I was born. Just go back, finish reading the post, and we’ll keep this between us. Click here to go back –> “I tried to see you naked, I should be ashamed.”
