The door color.
I bought a new wooden storm door. It arrived fresh from the lumber company, bare and about 1/4 thinner than it is now. In fact, my handy man said we have to go for deeper hinges to accommodate the increased thickness due to the 10 layers of paint on either side.

“Hi, I’m Haley! How can I help you?”
“I’m painting my front door so I’d like a quart of this in a Satin Exterior.” handing her my Greenfield Pumpkin paint chip.
“Would you like a sample first? Maybe take it home and really test it out?”
“Um, no.”
“So you want to just ‘go for it’?”
Ok, so now my confidence is shaken. Maybe Haley’s right, maybe it’s a horrible baby shit color, and I should just stop trying to venture outside of my comfort zone.
“Good luck. I hope that color works out…at least it’s a festive color for this time of year.”
